Argentine tango is a passionate fusion of elegance, romance and communication and is a great way to enjoy yourself, meet others and keep fit. Tanya Marsden and Howard Laing formed the dance company Tango Primero to enhance the lives of others, specifically through Argentine tango.
Tango connects you to the present in the moment of dance, whilst transporting you to a bygone era in the Buenos Aires which continues to develop and change, even today. |

We began dancing professionally in 2006 when we moved to Cumbria. We teach in Cumbria at Whinfell Forest, Centerparcs and the beautifully situated, residential college of Higham Hall, Bassenthwaite. We also teach in the north east of England and south west Scotland, and are the dedicated tutors of the Solway Tango Society.
We teach Tango de Salon which retains a timeless quality, inspiring creativity and spontaneity. For us, tango is about the embrace, partner connection and the music. We carry this philosophy into our tuition so that anyone who is interested can achieve a level of competency that enables them to enjoy any tango social occasion. We are constantly inspired by our trainers, Jenny Frances and Ricardo Oria, who travel annually to Buenos Aires and perform tango all over the UK and Europe.
